Malala Yousafzai divides Twitter for her Palestine Israel conflict tweet
Palestine is burning
People and kids have been dying in Gaza Palestine. On Monday over nine kids among 20 people lost their lives after a rocket strike from Israel. Blasts shook structures all through Gaza and rocket alarms sent Israelis in numerous southern towns dashing for cover for the time being. Two Palestinians were executed and in excess of 100 injured in airstrikes, Palestinian authorities said.
Malala Yousafzai being spineless over Palestine matter
During these hard times, Pakistanis also condemned the ongoing atrocities in Gaza and the recent attack on the Al Aqsa mosque. Amidst the situation, Malala Yousafzai was also called out as she was silent on the matter. She then took to Twitter with the tweet that landed her in another controversy.
Malala tweeted, “The violence in Jerusalem – especially against children – is unbearable. This long conflict has cost many children their lives and their futures. Leaders must act immediately – there is no peace when children and civilians are not safe.”
Soon after her tweet, there was a clear divide on her take. While many lauded the activist for ‘speaking up against the ongoing attacks,’ others called her out for being hypocritical.
Twitteratis instantly called out and pointed her for her remark, a user replied,
Another user tweeted,
Ali Zaidi from Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf also replied to her tweet,
The contradiction floats
Another tweet read, ” Malala is hailed as a human rights champion. But she stays silent on Kashmir. She stays silent on the oppression against the Palestinians. Do you not see the contradiction?”
A user wrote, “sis it’s not a conflict, it’s ethnic cleansing, apartheid, and violence against innocent people. Your influence is global and using the wrong words could be far more hurtful to the victims than it appears.”
Some people jumped in for support as well. A user said,
“It’s actually horrifying to think that one of our biggest flexes as a country is bullying a young girl since she was 15-years-old just for the crime of being shot in the head by terrorists. Absolute woe to this nation.”
Let’s not shift the focus from the main issue and pray for the end of Palestine’s oppression from Israel once and for all and leave Malala alone.
