Friday Flix Series of the Week: Emily in Paris
All I hear these days is Emily’s wave of trends that she brought with her to Paris. One of my friends ended up getting a bunch of Emily in Paris-inspired clothing from overseas, which I am not surprised about because they look great. Is this series, however, solely about style and Parisian fashion? In today’s Friday Flix, we’ll find out!
Emily in Paris cast
Emily in Paris is an American comedy-drama streaming television series created by Darren Star for Netflix. The cast included the famous singer Phil Collins’s daughter Lily Collins as the main lead. Additional cast includes Ashley Park, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Kate Walsh, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Camille Razat, William Abadie, and Charley Fouquet.
Emily in Paris storyline
Emily in Paris follows Emily, a motivated 20-year-old Chicagoan who relocates to Paris for its unexpected career opportunity. She’s been assigned the duty of bringing an American perspective to a venerable French marketing agency. As she adjusts to the challenges of living in Paris while juggling her career, new friendships, and romantic life, cultures collision due to her mundane and boring Midwestern US life.
Emily and Lily!
Emily Cooper and Lily Collins, the actress who plays her, have something in common. Both are instantly lovable, as evidenced by the fact that the show debuted on Netflix more than a year ago. She can be obnoxious, makes a lot of mistakes, and gets herself into a lot of problems. Emily is a bundle of paradoxes who never fails to be a fountain of positivity due to her peculiarities and mishap-prone ways. What you make of the misadventures of a 28-year-old lady on a mission of discovery will determine whether you regard that as true youthful unflappability or plain old foolhardiness.
The Paris lovin’
If there’s one thing the show has going for it, it’s that it looks fantastic; possibly because Paris is still a faraway dream. Emily is always dressed properly for a trip to Paris, and every now and then she says something so amusing that I couldn’t help but chuckle, especially given the boss babe situation. Furthermore, Emily in Paris, on the other hand, takes a long time to find its acidic streak, and even when it does, there’s not nearly enough of it to cut through.
Skip or stream?
Finally, with all the charm and elegance the series manages to keep you engaged, this is a one-time watch. And they want you to buy too many bright coats, hats, and purses. So, if you’re a fashionista who enjoys love stories and romance in general, this will be a chick-flick romantic series for you.
