Hathaway prefers Annie. Wow! She’d probably even prefer people call her by her “Princess Diaries” character, “Mia Thermopolis,” if someone would ask me. She says the only person who actually calls her Anne is her mom, and that’s only when she’s angry.
“Every time I step out in public and someone calls my name, I think they’re gonna yell at me,” she said. “The truth is nobody’s comfortable calling me Anne, ever. It doesn’t fit—I’m an Annie. People call me ‘Ms. H,’ people call me ‘Hath,’ so feel free to call me anything but Anne,” she added.
“Call me anything but Anne,” she told Fallon.
