Lady Gaga confirms casting in ‘Joker’ sequel as Harley Quinn
Lady Gaga confirms Joker’s casting as Harley Quinn
Lady Gaga announced on social media that she had been cast in “Joker 2” by sharing a musical teaser. Gaga will appear in the follow-up, formally titled “Joker: Folie à Deux,” opposite Joaquin Phoenix, who will reprise the role of the Joker after winning the Oscar for best actor for his work in the 2019 original. The song playing in the teaser is “Cheek to Cheek,” which Gaga famously sang with Tony Bennett in her music career.
Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn?
In June, Variety claimed that Gaga was considering playing Harley Quinn in the forthcoming “Joker” sequel, which will feature a musical. On June 7, the screenplay’s cover was uploaded to Instagram by the director Todd Phillips, revealing the subtitle “Folie à Deux.” The term alludes to a common hallucination disease, and Harley, a character first developed for “Batman: The Animated Series” in the early 1990s, has been the Joker’s only actual buddy other from Batman. However, the trailer does not explicitly state that Gaga is portraying Harley.

The Harley Quinn of Suicide Squad
For Warner Bros., Harley Quinn has proven to be a dependable figure. In the hit HBO Max animated series “Harley Quinn,” which is currently in its third season, Kaley Cuoco provides the voice of the character. Margot Robbie has performed the part three times: in the 2016 film “Suicide Squad,” the 2020 film “Birds of Prey,” and the 2021 film “The Suicide Squad.”
The first “Joker” from Phillips became a box office sensation in 2019, earning well over $1 billion globally to become the most successful R-rated film in history (unadjusted for inflation). The film received 11 nominations for Academy Awards, including best picture and director, after taking home the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. Phoenix and Hildur Gunadóttir each received an Oscar for best original score.

Critics review ‘House of the Dragon’ is better than GoT and Breaking Bad
House of the Dragon is better than Breaking Bad and GOT?
Game of Thrones is back in the guise of the prequel House of the Dragon, which debuted last week in Los Angeles with a brand-new cast. Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, who replaced David Benioff and D. B. Weiss as the new showrunners.
The Game of Thrones prequel, which is scheduled to debut on HBO Max on August 21, recently hosted a preview screening of its pilot episode for members of the media, and the early reviews are excellent.

Critics approve HOTD
After Game of Thrones’ lacklustre conclusion, many fans of the original show had their reservations about the new prequel. However, it now appears that HBO and George R. R. Martin have overcome that setback and produced a series that is even better than its forerunner.
Collider‘s editor-in-chief Steven Weintraub said “I did not like the last season of Game of Thrones. At all. But I’ll admit the series premiere of House of the Dragon is really well done and I’ll continue watching.”
Another Collider critic, Christina Radish penned, “Sometimes you’ve just gotta spend the night hanging out with a dragon!”
She added, “For those curious about the series, without spoilers, I can say that the thing I really dig is the fact that it still feels epic in scale and scope while telling a personal and intimate story about one family, showcasing both their love and dysfunction.”

Another Tweep says, the Wrap‘s Brandon Katz wrote, “The House of the Dragon pilot very efficiently explains its context in relation to GoT, introduces its core characters, and lays out the central conflict of the series. It’s an easy-to-follow premiere with vibrant colors and detailed texture. Absolutely a worthy successor so far.”
One critic shared, “I didn’t know how much I missed the Game of Thrones theme song until I heard it tonight at the HOTD premiere! That first episode is fantastic! Can’t wait to see what’s next. Fingers crossed it’s no repeat of the final season of GoT.”
Where can I watch House of the Dragon?
The series will be streaming from August 21 on HBO Max.

Friday Flix Series of the Week: The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann
The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann
The eagerly anticipated documentary “The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann” on Netflix has been plagued by rumors’ of problems nearly since it was first ordered. The McCanns themselves declined to participate and requested that everyone else do the same. It was once claimed that the eight-part series would be shortened to a single, hour-long episode.
However, it ended up being a complete eight-part series. Was the wait worthwhile? Did it dispel rumours and disbelievers? Both no and no, not by any imaginable standard.
What was the Madeleine McCann story?
The case was a straightforward recounting of how Madeleine, a three-year-old girl, was abducted from her holiday apartment one night while the whole family were on vacation in Portugal. She is Kate and Gerry McCann’s eldest daughter. However, the level of negligence and utter insanity displayed by the Portuguese police revealed how unconcerned they were throughout the terrible process and how their needless delays lengthened the entire disappearance process.

An absolute and complete drag for the series!
The entire incident was one of the most publicized kidnapping cases in history. And nearly every media outlet on the globe paid attention to it. But the way it was portrayed looked to be nothing more than a rehash and repetition of the kidnapping scenes. The whole Netflix documentary-series of the McCann’s case provided no fresh information or new insights, and it lacked even a point of view.
The majority of the first episode is devoted to the disappearance, the ensuing panic, the initial shock, and the slowest police response. From there, we move on to the fruitless searches, the increasing media attention, and the deterioration of Kate and Gerry’s relationship with the Portuguese police.

The suspect’s shaky identification, the sniffer dogs that cast doubt on the parents. The magazine article that implied the McCann family and the people they were vacationing with had made a pact of silence regarding the “fact” that Madeleine had perished in an accident while they were eating at the resort’s tapas bar 100 yards away and that they had disposed of the body. Through all potential sightings, linkages to other cases, later authored publications, and purposes for agendas. In addition, there were subsequent legal actions, and so forth. All dead ends and meaningless recaps of scenes from a story that still hasn’t concluded (yet).

Final Verdict
I enjoy watching crime documentaries; in fact, I watch them the majority of the time over regular series. In my opinion, this was one of the situations that should have been handled more effectively and efficiently. It’s about the general situation of a grave crime, not just the creation of a Netflix series. The case itself was delicate and painful, but the cops and media treated it like complete rubbish.

Emilia Clarke reflects on ability to speak despite losing to two brain aneurysms
Emilia Clarke and her fight with brain aneurysms
Emilia Clarke disclosed that “quite a bit” of her brain no longer functions about ten years after undergoing surgery for two ruptured aneurysms. In a recent interview, the actor termed her full recovery after recurrent episodes of internal bleeding “remarkable.”
In an appearance on BBC Sunday Morning this week, Clarke, discussed the life-threatening health issues she encountered in her mid-twenties. In 2011, and again in 2013, Clarke was hospitalised due to fatal cerebral haemorrhages.

“It was the most excruciating pain.”
In an interview with the BBC Clarke spoke of a horrible headache that struck her out of nowhere when she was working out in February 2011, shortly after wrapping up production for the first season of “Game of Thrones.” Early detection of the rupture and immediate medical attention allowed Clarke to resume work a few weeks later, but two years later, she experienced additional severe aneurysm problems.

Furthermore she said, “The amount of my brain that is no longer usable — it’s remarkable that I am able to speak, sometimes articulately, and live my life completely normally with absolutely no repercussions,” Clarke said. “I am in the really, really, really small minority of people that can survive that.”
Haemorrhage and recovery for Emilia Clarke
Moreover, she remarked that following the second haemorrhage, while making a full recovery, some areas of her brain were rendered permanently unavailable. After her initial surgery, a regular brain scan revealed the aneurysm, a bulging blood vessel that might rupture and cause a stroke. By 2013, the aneurysm had expanded to the point where doctors advised another surgery to cure it. But that operation increased bleeding, necessitating yet another, more intrusive surgery.
“There’s quite a bit missing, which always makes me laugh,” Clarke said, speaking about her brain. “Strokes, basically, as soon as any part of your brain doesn’t get blood for a second, it’s gone. So, the blood finds a different route to get around, but then whatever bit is missing is therefore gone.”
“With the second one, there was a bit of my brain that actually died,” Clarke said, adding, “If a part of your brain doesn’t get blood to it for a minute, it will just no longer work. It’s like you short circuit.”
The procedure, according to Clarke at the time, left her with “a deep paranoia” about whether it would end her acting career. She did, however, go on to star in numerous extra seasons of “Game of Thrones” in addition to other films.

Anwar Maqsood returns with Saadhay 14 August
After a protracted hiatus following Sawa 14 August, writer Anwar Maqsood is back with Saadhay 14 August, the third and final instalment of the theatrical trilogy, on August 14 in the city of lights.
On Saturday, Kopykats Production published a brief preview for the play with the caption, “Celebrating [the] 75th Anniversary of Pakistan with the final part of the theatrical masterpiece trilogy, Anwar Maqsood’s Saadhay 14 August.”
In it, a photographer was attempting to get a shot of Gandhi and Jinnah sitting on a bench. It became difficult for him to get the pair to bridge the space between them, which annoyed him. The conversation between the party delegates served as a brilliant commentary on the divisions that caused British India to be divided.
In the end, Maqsood enters, sits in the centre, and says “Saadhay Chauda August, chauda August” as the photographer takes a picture.

Furthermore, the author expressed his opinion over the absence of 14 (Chauda) August. He stated: “I won’t be writing that because to my mind, Pakistan hasn’t yet seen a chauda August worth celebrating.”
The play Saadhay 14 August will start from 14th August 2022, in Arts Council of Pakistan.
