The memes of 2021
If you didn’t have the opportunity to visit 2021 in person, you may get a sense of the year’s spirit by glancing at the online memes it generated.
The memes of 2021 unmistakably portrayed a messed, uncertain, and jumbled timeline. We looked back in October at how some of the most popular memes aptly encapsulated this dreadful year. Anxiety about the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which has been inadequately mismanaged.
But, as depressing as it may appear, the memes of 2021 provided some much-needed reprieve. By definition, memes condense complicated emotions and feelings into easily shareable photographs, videos, and text posts, as we’ve previously stated. It’s reassuring to know that our feelings are shared by tens of thousands, if not millions, of other individuals. The memes of 2021 have provided us with the connection we so sorely crave, especially at a time when we can’t be together.
Memes that got us through 2021
Memes got us through 2021, whether it was the ever-growing memes over the cricket saga or any morning show mistakes. And don’t worry if you’re perplexed by anything I just stated; we’ve compiled a list of the year’s funniest, oddest, and most crazy memes below.
Best Pakistani memes of 2021
We can all breathe a sigh of relief now that the year has officially come to an end. Let us express thanks for what got us through 2021—the memes—as we look forward to the New Year. Here’s a collection of memes that worked for us.
Cannoli by Soul Cafe
The year started off with the Canoli by Café Soul incident in Islamabad. The owner of the high-end café mocked one of his employees (manager) because his English speaking skills sparked controversy and endless memes came on social media. Our favorite one was,
Pawry horai hai
Pakistan was captivated by a version of someone’s video that was uploaded on social media. The phrase ‘Pawry horai hai’ went widespread not just in Pakistan, but also outside its borders. Let’s have a look at Yashraj Mukhate’s rendition of ‘Pawry horai hai,’ which was our favorite viral video.
The fall of Aamir Liaquat
Then came the famous Aamir Liaquat’s fall of 2021. Aamir Liaquat invited Pakistani track and field athletes. During the show, he and Naseem had a race on set, in which Aamir Liaquat fell on the floor. On this, the internet went frenzy. Out of all the memes, our favorite one was.
Kya Karai ho Muskan
The happening year added much laughter when Faisal Qureshi came up with this famous dialogue “Kya Kar Rahi Hou Muskaan.” During a live show with a bunch of TikTok-ers, Faisal Qureshi loses his temper when a girl started hitting one of his friends, who was the birthday boy as well.
The Formula car fiasco
Then came Nida Yasir with her sheer knowledge about Formula cars, that slew the internet. During her morning show interview, the Nadaniyaan actor struggles to comprehend the idea of ‘Formula 1’ racing in the video, which is from an old episode of Good Morning Pakistan.
Our favorite meme from the lot,
Asim Azhar and Hania Amir
So first it was “Katega Katega” for Hania Aamir and Asim Azhar, but this year it was Katgaya for Asim Azhar but that’s not all. A lot happened, which was good for Asim Azhar. The breakup saga remained the same for both the artists. In a concert, Hania Asim was seen vibing on one of Asim Azhar’s songs and dancing facing opposite the stage. And people were confused.
Moreover, a user tweets this meme which made the most sense at the moment,
Pakistan’s glorious win against India
Furthermore, after Pakistan’s glorious victory throughout Worldcup matches, the most talked-about is Pakistan vs India. Where Pakistan won by 10 wickets. The beautiful victory would be something Pakistani’s will not leave a chance for. Moreover, the love for memes was evident.
We will end the Best Pakistani memes of 2021 thread with the funniest one. “Helikopter Helikopter.” Combining last year’s meme video “wow grape” of Senator Seher Kamran’s. The song by Fazlija, Helikopter was a song from 2015 but gained prominence in 2021. Our favorite meme by far was,

Music has always played an important role in my life. It has always been a constant companion for me, whether it is tuned from my own nation or from around the world. There is no doubt that Sajjad Ali is one of the masters of the Pakistani industry and one of the most famous artists of all time. He’s singing over hundreds of songs, yet it’s still a breath of new air. He has just released a new song video titled Qarar. The song has a lovely sorrowful tune to it. Hussyn’s main character is featured in the video, crying in various locales and gazing longingly into the distance as the wind blows through her flawlessly blow-dried hair. Because the protagonist waits for her love to return, the song has a sorrowful Bollywood vibe to it. Jovi Films directed the song video.

The film will make you want to dance right away, and if you’re of Pathan descent, you’ll feel the culture in your bones! The art direction of Shahama Shahid, as well as the direction of Shahzaib Qureshi, Ibrahim Hassan, and Hammad Javed, added to the beauty of this music video. The song surprised us because the lyrics are crisp and on point, hinting at an on-point split! Humza Chaudry has masterfully directed and shot the song video, which features Romaisa Khan. Some of the pictures are quite well-executed. The scene in which Romaisa burns the scarf all the way to the edge was fantastic! The camera shots are fluid and well-executed. The lyrics and music video were a wonderful match.

The artist surprised everyone this year when he released his rendition of Tere Bina Hum Jee Leyngey as Kaisay Jiyen, which included the stunning Saboor Aly. Saad Hashmi’s direction is very brilliant. The plot revolves around love and betrayal. Both of the major characters in the music video are in a relationship, but Saboor betrays him in order to go. The fact that Zahid discovered the truth but still couldn’t execute his revenge fits in wonderfully with the lyrics.
Kaisay Jiyen by Mustafa Zahid lyrics
Kaisey Jiyein Kis Se Kahen
Kab Se Shuru Yeah Silsile
Jin K Nishaan Ab Mil Rahe
Wo Na Yahaan Kyun Mil Rahe
Youn Ronnd Ker Meri Wafa
Tujh ko Bata Mila Hai Kya
Dharken Meri Bhataak Rahi
Hai Saans Bi Ataak Rahi
In Faslo Mein Bhi Mujh ko
Lgta Nhe To Mujh Ko Juda Ha
Kyun Toora Tu Ne Yeah Rishta
Yeah Kesi teri Adaa Hai
5) Melancholic – Maanu
With his groovy sounds and varied lyrics, Rehman Afshar, nicknamed Maanu, is one of those artists who fly solo under the radar. Melancholic is a wonderful tune that combines Pop, R&B, and EDM in one song. It’s a full-fledged post-breakup album. And it depicts what comes straight from the heart! The song expresses itself perfectly. Melancholic was written and composed by Maanu himself, with Adeel Tahir handling the mastering.
Read More: Melancholic by Maanu is a “sad tale of affairs”
The music video for Melancholic is a visual feast. The traditional 4:3 frame ratio displays the performer (Maanu himself) seated on a couch singing the lyrics with a numb single drowsy face, directed by Muhammad Shah and Abdul-Rehman Malik. People around him appear to be having a good time and enjoying life to the fullest. However, the words imply a breakup, and the melancholy associated with it proves it. This tune becomes more depressing. For him, everything comes to a halt because he has lost himself. When the chorus hits the song intensifies and depicts the feeling of hopelessness, anxiety and the electronic music sure hits the notes perfectly with a constant groove until it fades with percussion tabla-like beats.
Melancholic by Maanu lyrics
Melancholic sa he yeh samaa, mein kahoon kia?
Gin and tonic, pe hoon mein ab kab se yoon zinda
Haan jab se dekhin teri aankhein
Tab se hun mein teri raahun ka diwaana
I don’t have words
But I do know ke yoon haule haule
Aage barh raha he in do dilun ka fasaana
Kyun? Dar jaata hun jab hun tujh se duur
Even though I try to play it cool
Tu hi deti he iss dil ko sakoon
4) Yaad – Asim Azhar ft Young Stunners
When two great artists collaborate, you know it’ll be a hit! Asim Azhar is one of Pakistan’s most valuable possessions. Yaad is one of their outstanding productions that has a special place in the hearts of their followers. Asim Azhar composed the music for Yaad, while Young Stunners composed the rap portion. Both are on a mission to make their imprint in the music industry. The song is a departure from Asim’s regular musical approach, and the addition of rap adds a new dimension to the mix for listeners. Asim Azhar, Talha Anjum, Talhah Yunus, and Raamis Ali composed the lyrics.
The song perfectly captures the heartbreak and the agony of missing and attempting to forgive someone you once loved. Asim Hussain directed the music video, and Jazib Qamar created the concept. Usman Malkani did the DOP, and he captured the mood of the video perfectly. The song video is set in the desert and features a charred phone and a single tree, symbolizing loneliness and wait.
Yaad by Asim Azhar lyrics
Tu yeh jaane tere aage mazboor hain
Kis baat ka guroor
Fayda uthayi yeh kaisa yeh suroor hai
Deta saadayen kyun na tujhko sunayi de
Tera deewana poori duniya gawahi de
Main laparwah sarphira par bewafa nahi
Kab tak yeh aashiq aakhir apni safayi de
3) Paisa – Hasan Raheem
Prepare to groove to Hasan Raheem’s Paisa! In our list of the Best Pakistani Music Videos of 2021, this song is ranked third. This is why. Hasan Raheem was unknown until the year 2020. And the stars aligned in his favor. He is now well-known throughout the world. The rising star has been added to the Coke Studio season 14 lineup! This is enormous. Despite his career as an MBBS doctor, he believes that music will always be a side hustle for him. We are on the precipice of deciding whether he is correct or incorrect, as music is becoming his strongest trait.

He’s been spotted working with a slew of underappreciated artists…we’d call them treasures! Talal Qureshi, Maanu, Rozeo, Arham Ikram, Rohan YV, and others are among the artists featured. Paisa is buzzing with energy. The music and video work well together. Shot at several locations around Pakistan Cantt station. Hasan can be spotted leaping around in strange places (because this is one of his sporting elements) and making katakat! In addition, he shaved his beard at a nearby naayi shop. When it comes to vibing, he’s a natural! Arham Ikram is in charge of cinematography and direction, while RohanYV is in charge of visual effects and post-production. The raw atmosphere of this music video is what sets it apart and places it in third place!
Paisa by Hasan Raheem lyrics
Meri zindagani
Jeekay dekhle tu jaani
Mere dil ka yeh fasana
Tera khudse chaley aana
Dibs on my dil ki rail gaadi
I don’t want no teri hoshiyaari
Paiso ki koi kami nai
Baithe saarey beopaari
Yeh kaisa Paisa
2) Nawazish – Auj
Auj’s distinct musical style distinguishes them. There isn’t another Pakistani band with a classic rock soul like them. After winning the Battle of Bands, the band began focused on creating their own music and developing a name for themselves, and they have already released a single called Nawazish, which features Anoushay Abbasi in the video. We believe this song, with its legendary music video, should be in second place!
Also Read: Thursday Tunes: Nawazish by Auj band is infused with suffering and villainous charm
‘Nawazish’ delves into the concepts of affection and scorn, as well as the sentiments and traumas they engender in our lives and emotional bonds. The song tells a sorrowful story of hardship and victimization, which the band depicts flawlessly in a delicate rock melodic infusion. The classical Part of the feeling was given more weight by Abdul Rehman’s voice. The percussions and Hasnain’s powerful bass set the tone for the entire song. Furthermore, the guitar solo, in particular, elevates the entire wicked atmosphere to new heights. The video stars a gothic Anoushay as the villain, who smiles evilly while she causes havoc on her victims. Jalal is the director of the song video. Ijlal Azam, on the other hand, brilliantly demonstrates his abilities as a cinematographer.
Nawazish by Auj lyrics
Jaana,
Jane jaana,
Main kasrat se nafrat mein teri jalta phirun,
Maana, Maine maana,
Tujhay kosoun aur phir teri dar per bhatakta phirun,
Nawazishain teri
jo mera naam leyti hain teri,
kaali zubaan,
Oh jaane-jaan.
1) Afsanay – Young Stunners
For all the right reasons, Afsanay is at the top of our pick of the best Pakistani music videos of 2021. The 6-minute song encapsulates an entire movie in a short amount of time. The song has an amazing tune. I’m astounded at how far the duo has progressed and arrived at this moment. Rapping was never my type of music. This song, though, turned me into a fan of them and the pair in general. Afsanay tells the story of a man (Talha Anjum) who is addicted to drugs and finds himself in a romantic crisis.
The angel of death (Talhah Yunus) follows him about, but he doesn’t see him until (Anjum) kills his lover by pushing her off a highrise building when she caught him doing drugs. He attempts to push the feeling away, but the angel of death pursues him, and he dies before eventually meeting him. Abdul Wali Baloch directed and produced the video, with Mahad Ali Sajid and Talhah Yunus as co-directors. Jokhay is in charge of the music. His work is indescribable. The music video’s overall tone is eerie. You’ll sigh at some time! The rap is fantastic and on point.
Afsanay by Young Stunners lyrics
Afsanay Ab Likhta Nahi
Main Dunya Ko Dikhta Nahi Hon
Mat Poocho Mian Ktna Sahi Hon
Kyun Ik Jagha Tikta Nahi Hon
Basar Kerte Hain Teray Dil Main
Aser Hai Tu Shikwa Kare Kyun
Zikar Hota Hai Her Mehfil Main
Who Chahtay Per Dikhta Nahi Hon

10) ‘Mythic Quest’ (Apple TV+)
-IMDb User Rating: 7.8/10
-Rotten Tomatoes: 97%
-Years Active: 2020 – present
In its second season, this workplace comedy from the cast of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia grew to become a confident and engaging show. Rob McElhenney and his team figured out what made each character entertaining on their own and when they were combined with others. In between all the usual office antics, they managed to work in some genuinely thoughtful material — Charlotte Nicdao’s reliably funny Poppy navigating the complexities of being a woman in the male-dominated video game world; the aging C.W. (F. Murray Abraham) reconciling with a longtime rival (guest star William Hurt, in a battle of mid-Eighties Oscar winners) — It’s not glamorous, but it’s always satisfying.

9) ‘WandaVision’ (Disney+)
-IMDb User Rating: 8/10
-Rotten Tomatoes: 91%
-Years Active: 2020 – present
There have been numerous shows about television or involving characters who are aware that they are on television, but neither premise is what you’d expect from a multibillion-dollar superhero franchise that has become the most popular thing in the world. WandaVision is an example of a show that goes beyond brilliance. WandaVision is a Marvel Comics-based American television miniseries created by Jac Schaeffer for the Disney+ streaming service, starring Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch and Vision. It is the first television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios, following the events of Avengers: Endgame and sharing continuity with the franchise’s films (2019). Matt Shakman directed the film, with Schaeffer as the head writer.

The plot revolved around a pair of third-string Avengers — Elizabeth Olsen as the spell-casting Wanda and Paul Bettany as her recently-deceased robot lover Vision — who appeared on the show every week in the shape of a classic sitcom from the past. The series skillfully leveraged all of those shows’ old clichés to poignantly examine Wanda’s sadness over the traumas of her life, and Olsen, Bettany, and scene-stealing co-star Kathryn Hahn committed totally to these pastiches of The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Brady Bunch, and more.

8) For All Mankind (Apple TV+)
-IMDb User Rating: 7.9/10
-Rotten Tomatoes: 87%
-Years Active: 2020 – present
Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert, and Ben Nedivi conceived and wrote For All Mankind, an American science fiction drama streaming television series made for Apple TV+. After the Soviet Union succeeds in the first crewed Moon landing ahead of the United States, the series dramatizes an alternate history illustrating “what would have happened if the global space race had never ended.” Joel Kinnaman plays fictional NASA astronaut Edward Baldwin in the series, which also stars Michael Dorman, Sarah Jones, Shantel VanSanten, Jodi Balfour, and Wrenn Schmidt. Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins, Mercury Seven astronaut Deke Slayton, rocket scientist Wernher von Braun, US Senator Ted Kennedy, and US Presidents Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan are among the historical people included in the series.
In an alternate universe, Alexei Leonov, a Soviet cosmonaut, becomes the first human to arrive on the Moon in 1969. This result devastates NASA’s morale, but it also serves as a catalyst for an American drive to catch up. With the Soviet Union emphasizing diversity by adding a woman in successive landings, the United States is compelled to keep up, training women and minorities who were generally excluded from the early decades of space exploration in the United States.

7) You Season 3 (Netflix)
-IMDb User Rating: 7.7/10
-Rotten Tomatoes: 91%
-Years Active: 2020 – present
The third season of Netflix’s You arrives with full force after two seasons of promising but chaotic stalker drama. Penn Badgley’s Joe Goldberg finally has an outer imaginary world to match the nightmare palace within his head, with more complicated motivations and more effective narrative foils. “You” jumps from decent to outstanding with the inclusion of Shalita Grant as a nosy, creepy, type-A mommy blogger.
Joe and Love are married and raising their newborn son, Henry, in the fictitious Californian suburb of Madre Linda in the third season. Joe continues to repeat the cycle of obsession with a growing interest in Natalie Engler, their next-door neighbor, as their relationship dynamic takes a new turn. This time, Love turns the script to ensure that her ideal of creating the perfect family isn’t shattered by Joe’s obsessive behavior. After Love has dealt with Natalie’s issue, Joe’s focus shifts to Marienne, a librarian with whom he shares a rough upbringing in the foster system. Natalie’s stepson Theo falls head over heels for Love, further straining Love and Joe’s relationship.

6) Maid (Netflix)
-IMDb User Rating: 8.5/10
-Rotten Tomatoes: 93%
-Years Active: 2020 – present
The premise of this miniseries appears to be arduous: Alex (Margaret Qualley) escapes from an emotionally abusive relationship, only to find herself and her daughter homeless and forced to scrape by cleaning houses to make ends meet. And the miniseries, which is based on Stephanie Land’s memoir, does not shy away from depicting the terrible reality of poverty and domestic abuse. But, thanks to a fascinating and engaging lead performance from Qualley, it’s also immensely entertaining, and at times even shockingly amusing. (Andie MacDowell, who plays Qualley’s mother, delivers some of her best work as Alex’s unstable mother, who is more of a trap for her daughter than a safety net.) This type of story is often willing, even too good to be true sometimes. Maid is much more complicated and much better than that.
Alex’s problems include parenting a young child, dealing with an abusive ex-boyfriend and her own dysfunctional family, and negotiating the red tape of government assistance while working as a maid and dreaming of a future as a writer, all while working as a maid and dreaming of a career as a writer. The story is set near Seattle, Washington, and the protagonist, Alex, frequently commutes to the fictional Fisher Island by boat.

5) Squid Game (Netflix)
-IMDb User Rating: 8/10
-Rotten Tomatoes: 94%
-Years Active: 2020 – present
Squid Game is a Netflix original South Korean survival drama series developed by Hwang Dong-hyuk. Lee Jung-Jae, Park Hae-soo, Wi Ha-Joon, HoYeon Jung, O Yeong-Su, Heo Sung-Tae, Anupam Tripathi, and Kim Joo-ryoung are among the cast members. Even by the standards of previous Netflix foreign hits like Money Heist, Elite, and this year’s Lupin, this Korean drama was a word-of-mouth smash. At the same time, it’s a nail-biting thriller and a scathing parody of late-period capitalism.
The show centers on a competition in which 456 players, all of whom are deeply in debt, risk their lives by playing a series of lethal children’s games in the hopes of winning a $45.6 billion prize. It may be difficult to watch due to an imaginative and colorful production design and a program that is both brutal and thematically unpleasant. In any case, it was one of the year’s most significant debuts. The series’ title is based on a Korean children’s game of the same name. Squid Game was published to widespread praise and international attention on September 17, 2021. It is Netflix’s most-watched series as of November 2021, having become the most-watched program in 94 countries, garnering over 142 million member households and accumulating 1.65 billion viewing hours in its first four weeks of release, beating Bridgerton for the title of the most-watched show.

4) Reservation Dogs (FX on Hulu)
-IMDb User Rating: 8.6/10
-Rotten Tomatoes: 88%
-Years Active: 2020 – present
Reservation Dogs is an American teen comedy-drama streaming television series produced by FX Productions and written by Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi. It’s a first in that it’s written and directed exclusively by Indigenous peoples, with an almost entirely Indigenous North American cast and crew. It’s also the first series totally shot in Oklahoma.
Reservation Dogs is clearly something special from the second episode. The show is about a gang of four Indigenous adolescents in Oklahoma who steal a chips van in order to imitate Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs’ calm unflappability; the narrative includes their dead friend, their families, and their friendship. Elora (Devery Jacobs), Bear (D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai), Cheese (Lane Factor), and Willie Jack (Paulina Alexis) try to regain the exhilaration of their theft in episode two but instead become bogged down in the bureaucracy of a reservation health clinic. Reservation Dogs is not only remarkable but practically miraculous at the end of its eight-episode season: humorous, sad, full of magical realism, and lovely, prosaic simplicity.

3) We Are Lady Parts (Peacock)
-IMDb User Rating: 8/10
-Rotten Tomatoes: 100%
-Years Active: 2020 – present
Nida Manzoor conceptualized, wrote, and directed the British television sitcom We Are Lady Parts. The show revolves around an eponymous British punk rock band made up exclusively of Muslim women. An all-female Muslim punk band in the United Kingdom draws inspiration from the city’s rich and diverse cultural mix. As the band strives for musical success, friendships, relationships, and cultural barriers must be navigated.
After screening as a pilot on Channel 4 in 2018, it was picked up for a six-episode series that launched on May 20, 2021. The show has been nominated for a number of accolades, including two Gotham Awards and a Rose d’Or. In November 2021, it was also announced that creator Nida Manzoor would be honored with the Rose D’Or Emerging Talent Award for her efforts on the show. The show is unique in that these are ladies who wear hijab, pray frequently, have relationships with both men and women, and can belt out a killer cover of “9 to 5” when the situation calls for it. Every single one of them is stunning, genuine, and the polar opposite of a cliché.

2) The Underground Railroad (Amazon Prime Video)
-IMDb User Rating: 8.6/10
-Rotten Tomatoes: 88%
-Years Active: 2020 – present
The Underground Railroad is a limited-run American fantasy historical drama produced and directed by Barry Jenkins, based on Colson Whitehead’s 2016 novel of the same name. Amazon Prime Video premiered the series.
Barry Jenkins’ adaptation of Colson Whitehead’s magical-realism novel about American slavery may be the most astonishing thing ever done for American television on a technical level. The visuals taken by Jenkins and cinematographer James Laxton are both gorgeous and terrifying, and the rest of the movie is so high-quality that you’ll start to believe you can smell everything as well as see and hear it. The performances are nearly as impressive, especially Thuso Mbedu’s portrayal of Cora, an enslaved woman who embarks on a cross-country journey over a literal replica of the Underground Railroad, complete with railway cars and concealed stations.

1) Hacks (HBO)
-IMDb User Rating: 8.2/10
-Rotten Tomatoes: 100%
-Years Active: 2020 – present
Hacks is an American comedy-drama streaming television series created by Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs, and Jen Statsky that premiered on May 13, 2021, on HBO Max. Jean Smart, Hannah Einbinder, and Carl Clemons-Hopkins star. In June 2021, the series was renewed for a second season.
It is a show about a well-known stand-up comedian, but its comedy is not rooted in stand-up. The laughs on this cleverly written cross-generational character study come from the interactions and conflict between Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), the industry vet with a set gig in Vegas, and Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder), a semi-disgraced TV writer who gets roped into writing jokes for Deborah. The dynamic between Einbinder and Smart crackles with love-hate energy as they approach and retreat from vulnerable places together.

Raqs-e-Bismil
IMDb: 8/10
The play revolves around the lives of Moosa (Imran Ashraf) and Zohra (Hashim Nadeem) and is directed by Wajahat Rauf and adapted by Hashim Nadeem from Nabila Aziz’s book of the same name (Sarah Khan). While Moosa has a solid social standing and is devoutly religious, he takes his role as a ‘janasheen‘ very seriously. On private occasions, Zohra performs as a dancer. Without understanding Zohra’s occupation, Moosa begins to gaze all starry-eyed at her. As the story unfolds, we observe Moosa’s mental turmoil as he moves from denial to skepticism to acceptance of his affection, all while facing opposition from his family.
Because of Imran Ashraf’s flawless acting, the drama was well welcomed by fans and admirers. Sarah’s beauty and acting abilities never cease to wow the audience!

Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay
IMDb: 7/10
Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay, written by Umera Ahmed and directed by Farooq Rind, is without a doubt one of the most emotional rides that audiences have ever witnessed. We all agree that Umera’s writing is powerful and fascinating, and all of her television plays feature compelling narratives and thrilling climaxes. The drama is based on her novel from 2008, and the plot revolves around various emotional ups and downs.
Mehreen, Aswad, and Mashal are three cousins in their early twenties when the story begins. They’re all first cousins, and they have an unbreakable bond. Mashal is a young beautiful girl from an affluent family, but Mehreen, her ‘phuppo ki beti,’ is a disturbed youngster following her parents’ divorce and her father’s suicide. Mashal and her mother Shugufta (Zainab Qayyum) are envious of Aswad (Usman Mukhtar), relationship with Mehreen, a relative of both who lives overseas. To a large part, the play is about love and catastrophes. The drama’s stars did an excellent job in their parts. Furthermore, the drama is thought to be a little too slow for the audience’s tastes, but it still manages to stay on top of the charts.

Pehli Si Mohabbat
IMDb 8/10
At first sight, Faiza Iftikhar and ARY Digital’s Pehli Si Muhabbat appear to be a regular, everyday drama, yet unfortunately, it is its greatest strength. The boy next door cliche attracts millions of viewers, and the serial was a surefire hit with Maya Ali and Sheheryar Munawar in the key parts. To a time when plays are increasingly regressing, revealing how much the Pakistani entertainment industry profits from chauvinism, the drama subtly alludes to feminism.
Maya Ali and Sheheryar Munawar played key roles in the drama. It captivated many hearts with its catchy old-school romance and exquisite plot. It is about Rakshi and Aslam, who fall in love to the point where they can no longer live without each other. The animosity between Aslam’s eldest brother and Rakshi’s father, on the other hand, causes problems in their connection. The plot changes later when Faizullah introduces Rakshi to a new figure named Sikandar. This new persona reintroduces the viewer to the past, revealing a love affair between Sikandar and Aslam’s sister. The plot takes a vindictive turn, causing havoc in everyone’s life. The bereaved couple must endure the agony of separation.
Aulaad
IMDb: 6/10
Aulaad is a recent production from Big Bang Entertainment, directed by Aabis Raza and written by Ameer Ali Shah. Jumping right into the plot, the story tells a tangled web of love, respect, and disrespect that wraps itself around the episode. Jalal (Muhammad Ahmed) has spent his entire life as a teacher and has dedicated himself to his children’s well-being and education, which his children recognize, although their eldest son Khurram (Hassan Niazi) has some troubles with the home environment. He continually complains about his money being wasted on the family, and no one seems to notice that he works hard and gives the majority of his earnings to this family.
Khurram’s wife, Afreen (Sunita Marshall), on the other hand, is the polar opposite; she is gentle and nice to the family. Adnan, on the other hand, appears to be a nice and caring son who recognizes that his parents are becoming older and are unable to work as much as they once could, but his wife Farwa (Hina Jawed) disagrees! As the drama progressed, each episode included a growing amount of grief. The Pakistani audience may empathize with the close-knit desi family.

Laapata
IMDb: 7/10
Thanks to the performance of Ayeza Khan and Sarah Khan, as well as Ali Rehman’s on-screen charisma, Laapata has retained a positive viewership. Ali Rehman, Ayeza Khan, Sarah Khan, Amna Malik, Gohar Rasheed, Asma Abbas, Emmad Butt, Akbar Islam, Rabia Noreen, Munazzah Arif, and Khalifa Sajeeruddin are among the cast members. Khizer Idrees is the writer and director of the drama.
Shams (Ali Rehman), Falak (Sarah Khan), and Geeti (Sarah Khan) are first cousins (Ayeza Khan). Their parents get along well. Geeti is a wannabe TikTok celebrity with a similar general appearance to Geet from ‘Jab We Met.’ Shams and his father run a General Kiryana store, whereas Falak is a headstrong educated girl who wants to try CSS like her father. Shams and Falak have been loving since infancy and can’t seem to be apart. Shams, on the other hand, spends the majority of his time taking money from his store’s wallet and gambling with his friend, and he is also a neighborhood goon who beats up on people. As the story progressed, Ali Rehman vanished into thin air, breaking Falak’s heart and forcing her to marry her violent and abusive colleague.

Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi
IMDb: 8.8/10
Finally, new-generation writers are defiantly defying Pakistani society’s clichés. Amna Mufti is one of the playwrights whose drama Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi explores many of our society’s concerns.
