Drama Review: Sang-e-Mah starts with a powerful storyline!

Sang-e-Mah starts with a bang!

Sang-e-Mah kicked off with a bang, thanks to Mustafa Afridi (writer of Sang-e-Marmar), Saife Hassan’s direction, and Momina Duraid’s production. The first episode alone promised a fascinating tale including some really interesting and never-before-seen characters. The thing that stood out the most was how the team produced an entirely separate ambiance that didn’t even somewhat resemble Sang-e-Marmar, despite the fact that many renowned performers appeared in both films. The first episode laid the groundwork for what’s to come, and we can’t wait to see what’s next!

Sang-e-Mah drama review

The first episode starts with Hilmand (Atif Aslam) and Hikmat (Zaviyar Nauman) who are the children of Haji Marjan Khan (Nauman Ejaz) and Zarsanga (Samiya Mumtaz). Hikmat (Zaviyar) the youngest and most likely the most well-liked child, has a very straightforward outlook on life.

The eldest Hilmand, on the other hand, is indifferent to the world around him and isn’t afraid to let others know where he stands and how he approaches things. Marjan, as a respected member of the tribe, has a say in problems affecting the tribe’s members, but the only person over whom he has no authority is his own son Hilmand. It was fascinating to see how both Marjan and Hilmand were pitted against each other, with Marjan losing in front of his own child. Whereas, Zarghona (Sania Saeed) has abandoned her tribe and gone her own way. Gulmeena (Hania Aamir) is her only child, and she is a single mother.

Sang-e-Mah family disputes!

Gulmeena (Hania Aamir) is in love with Hikmat. Despite being sisters, Zarghona and Zarsanga are not on speaking terms. The couple believes they are capable of marrying each other. The couple’s exchanges demonstrate that they both believe they can persuade their parents.

Zarghona also has a personal assistant, Badaam Gul (Hassan Noman), who will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in the plot. His little introduction revealed that he was capable of much more and that he knew his tribe quite well.

Due to the large cast, we were also introduced to Harshali (Najiba Faiz) and his fiancée (Omair Rana). They are both members of the Sikh faith, and they have been engaged for 20 years but have yet to marry. Their introduction was quick, but there would be a link to Marjan Khan, which we shall discover later.

Final Verdict

The first episode of Sang-e-Mah is jam-packed with details that will be revealed in subsequent episodes. However, the on-screen relationship between Gulmeena and Hikmat will be discussed in the coming days among fans. As the son of Naumaan Ejaz, Zaviyar is showcasing his acting chops, while Hania Aamir is already a fan favorite. Kubra Khan’s entrance as a journalist is a welcome addition. We’ll have to wait and see how she interacts with Hilmand Khan. In Bol, Atif Aslam’s performance was brief, but this time he will be seen as a true actor. Until now, he has been slaying every frame with his dialogue delivery and expressions.

Friday Flix Series of the Week: Emily in Paris

Friday Flix Series of the Week: Emily in Paris

All I hear these days is Emily’s wave of trends that she brought with her to Paris. One of my friends ended up getting a bunch of Emily in Paris-inspired clothing from overseas, which I am not surprised about because they look great. Is this series, however, solely about style and Parisian fashion? In today’s Friday Flix, we’ll find out!

Emily in Paris cast

Emily in Paris is an American comedy-drama streaming television series created by Darren Star for Netflix. The cast included the famous singer Phil Collins’s daughter Lily Collins as the main lead. Additional cast includes Ashley Park, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Kate Walsh, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Camille Razat, William Abadie, and Charley Fouquet.

Emily in Paris storyline

Emily in Paris follows Emily, a motivated 20-year-old Chicagoan who relocates to Paris for its unexpected career opportunity. She’s been assigned the duty of bringing an American perspective to a venerable French marketing agency. As she adjusts to the challenges of living in Paris while juggling her career, new friendships, and romantic life, cultures collision due to her mundane and boring Midwestern US life.

Emily and Lily!

Emily Cooper and Lily Collins, the actress who plays her, have something in common. Both are instantly lovable, as evidenced by the fact that the show debuted on Netflix more than a year ago. She can be obnoxious, makes a lot of mistakes, and gets herself into a lot of problems. Emily is a bundle of paradoxes who never fails to be a fountain of positivity due to her peculiarities and mishap-prone ways. What you make of the misadventures of a 28-year-old lady on a mission of discovery will determine whether you regard that as true youthful unflappability or plain old foolhardiness.

The Paris lovin’

If there’s one thing the show has going for it, it’s that it looks fantastic; possibly because Paris is still a faraway dream. Emily is always dressed properly for a trip to Paris, and every now and then she says something so amusing that I couldn’t help but chuckle, especially given the boss babe situation. Furthermore, Emily in Paris, on the other hand, takes a long time to find its acidic streak, and even when it does, there’s not nearly enough of it to cut through.

Skip or stream?

Finally, with all the charm and elegance the series manages to keep you engaged, this is a one-time watch. And they want you to buy too many bright coats, hats, and purses. So, if you’re a fashionista who enjoys love stories and romance in general, this will be a chick-flick romantic series for you.

Is Emily in Paris in on Netflix?

Yes, the series is currently on Netflix. You can find the series link here.

Thursday Tunes: K-pop, a global phenomenon!

Thursday Tunes: K-pop, a global phenomenon!

The global Korean wave or K-pop

It’s known as Hallyu or the Korean wave, and it refers to the idea that South Korean pop culture has grown in prominence to become a major driver of global culture, as evidenced by everything from Korean dramas on Netflix to Korean skincare regimens dominating the cosmetics industry to delectable Korean tacos on your favorite local menu. The ever-growing popularity of K-pop — short for Korean pop music, of course — is at the heart of Hallyu.

Thanks to its peculiar blend of addicting songs, sleek choreography and production values, and an endless parade of handsome South Korean artists who spend years in harsh studio systems learning to sing and dance in synchronized perfection, K-pop has become a really worldwide phenomenon.

The expansion of the K-pop

Hallyu has been growing for two decades, but in the last five to ten years, K-pop has been more apparent to global audiences. Since the Wonder Girls first cracked the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2009 with their crossover hit “Nobody” — released in four languages, including English — South Korean artists have hit the chart at least eight times, and the export of K-pop has inflated the country’s music industry to an impressive $5 billion industry.

Why K-pop music is so popular?

K Pop, or Korean pop music, is one of the most thrilling aspects of this fascinating foreign culture. If you’ve seen the video for “Gangnam Style,” you might think you know a little about K Pop, but it’s much more than that.

K Pop stands out from other genres due to its innovative approaches to music videos, understanding of what it means to be skilled, and sheer hard work. Here are some of the reasons why K-pop is so popular.

Costumes and Colours

The innovative use of costumes and color in music videos is one of the things that K Pop excels at. When North America was only beginning to be industrialized hundreds of years ago, Asia already had a thriving art and graphics sector.

As a result, it’s no wonder that Asian pop culture, including music videos, is frequently highly sophisticated and well-considered. The use of special effects, make-up, clothing, and other elements is always in service of a larger theme and concept. If you don’t trust me, listen to this BTS track,

Vibrant personas

The quirky, lavish, and eye-popping personalities of K Pop are also well-known. K-pop singers, or “idols” as they are known in Asia, have a talent for sticking out from the crowd and pushing the boundaries of self-expression.

Fashion sense

Similarly, K pop artists give fashion a whole new meaning. Their real-life costumes and styles frequently outshine those of western celebs in terms of passion and creativity. K-pop stars aren’t afraid to make a splash, and they have a distinct way of interpreting current events.

Harry Potter Return to Hogwarts: A hug of reminiscing!

A return to a magical world!

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, a Harry Potter reunion special, aired on the new year. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint starred in the special alongside Robbie Coltrane, Helena Bonham Carter, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, and Ralph Fiennes, among others. While this is certainly fantastic news for Potter fans, the performers who made the HP characters eternal on-screen were sorely missed during the much-anticipated show. We especially missed the stars who have died since the franchise began 20 years ago.

Harry Potter Return to Hogwarts!

Over the course of an hour and a half, the show conjures not only wonderful recollections of the books and films but also of life two decades ago. That is nostalgia’s true power. Writers and filmmakers are far too frequently satisfied with simply adding a name or a recognized tune and calling it a day these days—and no one is more guilty of this than JK Rowling. They believe that jolting ancient memories from the depths of our subconscious are preferable to allowing them to gradually surface. The mind, on the other hand, is a strong tool, both mysterious and marvelous in equal measure. When I heard Emma Watson’s brittle voice in the reunion special, it reminded me not only of her Hermione Granger portrayal but also of the scent of fresh ink on paper. How intriguing.

Absence of Professor Snape at Return of Hogwarts

Apart from the iconic three of Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint), and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) in the first Harry Potter films, it’s difficult not to mention the late great Alan Rickman, who was brilliant in every scene he was a part of. Extra credit goes to the casting directors for selecting Rickman as the right fit for the part. Not everything in those films was a perfect adaptation, but there were a few things that came close. One of them was Rickman, who played the antihero, Severus Snape. Rickman got Snape down to the dot with his sweeping dark robe, chin-length dark hair, and that sardonic, dry, and half-amused tone.

Not only did we miss everyone, but we also missed Richard Harris, Helen McCrory, and Richard Griffith, who died during this time period.

The directors’ legacy of Harry Potter

Through the directors’ insights, a deeper look into Harry Potter was also offered. The directors went over each of the seven parts in great detail. Onset, there were some sweet moments and a lot of laughs. Chris Columbus, Alfonso Cuaron, Mike Newell, and David Yates are among the directors on the list. Each of those directors directed the films based on the demands and feelings of the audience.

Harry Potter, larger than life!

Harry Potter was available to those who did not have pals. Harry Potter was available to many who came from shattered homes. Furthermore, it was there in their loneliness that they discovered. Even if not all of those pals are still in your life and your parents are no longer alive, the memories you shared as a result of Harry Potter will live on. There are also people whom you have yet to meet. Future spouses coworkers, Harry Potter lovers with whom you will have a lot of interests. You may not recognize them, but they are folks to look forward to on the horizon. It is a whole world, that too is magical.
