Ghabrana Nahi Hai trailer is out
The two-and-a-half-minute trailer for Saba Qamar and Zahid Ahmed’s latest film, Ghabrana Nahi Hai, was released on Saturday. The movie trailer promises an action-packed trip for fans of desi crime dramas.
Ghabrana Nahi Hai promises a jam-packed thriller
Starting at the beginning, the trailer reveals a love triangle, as well as elements of corruption and immorality. It also highlights women being undermined or used in the face of strong political pressure. Moreover, the clip presents Saba as yet another fierce phoenix of a woman who rises from the ashes to put men in their place. But the storyline is kept under wraps.

The film will look at how Saba’s character, a social media influencer-turned-actor, might go to lengths to show the males in her life that if they don’t pull up their socks to serve justice, women like her will have to reclaim power. However, the film is not solely focused on women.

Friday Flix Series of the Week: House of Cards
House of Cards
The series House of Cards premiered on Netflix on February 1, 2013. The drama was based on Michael Dobbs’ 1989 novel House of Cards, which was adapted from the British series (of the same name) in 1990. Beau Willimon adapted the series for television. The series won Primetime Emmys for Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series (“Chapter 1”), Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series (“Chapter 1”), and Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series, as well as nominations for Outstanding Drama, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Spacey), Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series (Wright), and Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Drama Series (Wright).
House of Cards storyline
The series follows Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), an amoral politician and Democrat from South Carolina’s 5th congressional district, and his equally ambitious wife Claire Underwood, who lives in Washington, D.C. (Robin Wright). When Frank is passed over for the position of Secretary of State and House Majority Whip, he devises a complex scheme with the help of Claire to gain power. The show explores topics such as harsh pragmatism, deception, treachery, and power.

What makes it unique?
The series is clever, a lot smarter than the majority of the existing series. It’s clever because it’s multi-layered and the writing is tight. Despite its tight-knit nature, it is very doable. Even if you’ve lost part of the plot’s complexity, House of Cards is still worth watching… allowing for a re-viewing at a later date.

House of Cards was a tremendously popular series that only grew in popularity. As the series progresses, more and more individuals are switching to Netflix, and the company’s original series are gaining traction. The series gave Netflix the impetus it needed to become a big player in the realm of original content.
Why did House of Cards get canceled?
Netflix ended its connection with Spacey in 2017 when sexual misconduct claims surfaced. Without his involvement, the sixth (and final) season was created and released in 2018.
Final Verdict
House of Cards is a fantastic, yet dense, series. When you think the series can’t go in a different route or that Frank has been thrown a curveball, it turns out it was all part of the plan. When you see a show like this, you can usually predict where it will end up. This show might go in two different paths, in my opinion. Frank either burns for his sins or, more frighteningly, Frank manages to keep it hidden, becomes a fantastic president, and no one ever knows the truth…which probably happens a lot in Washington. It’s a show that you can’t stop watching. If you watch House of Cards, you may find yourself glued to the couch for a long time.

Thursday Tunes: Momina Mustehsan lives a foresty-fairytale in Beparwah by Coke Studio 14
Coke Studio season 14 going strong
Season 14 of Coke Studio is still going strong, with the show now on its tenth song. Beparwah by Momina Mustehsan has received a lot of positive feedback, and while it may not go on to become a massive smash like ‘Pasoori’ or ‘Tu Jhoom,’ based on the mixed reviews it has received online, the song has its own unique and distinctive style.
Beparwah by Momina Mustehsan
After ‘Sajan Das Na’ with Atif Aslam, Mustehsan’s second song in season 14 is ‘Beparwah.’ The song is written by Adnan Dhool and Rabi Ahmed of Soch the Band. It is produced by Xulfi and Action Zain and released on YouTube on March 7.
The song is an “intimate discourse,” according to Coke Studio, in which a higher power is called upon in a time of difficulty.
Coke Studio 14 aesthetics
I could go on and on with Coke Studio 14’s aesthetics. It’s the most visually stunning thing that’s ever happened to our industry. EVERYONE WHO IS INVOLVED IN MAKING THE COKE STUDIO APPEALING AND PRETTY, YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!

The musical arrangement at its finest
By far the most important aspect of this season is the musical arrangement. It is beyond beauty, whether it is Abdullah Siddiqui or ActionZain, Sherry Khattak or Adnan Dhool, or the maestro Xulfi himself! ActionZain and Xulfi wowed with their music production for Beparwah, which perfectly complemented the song’s melancholy tone. Adnan Dhool and Rabi Ahmed’s composition deserves a lot of credit.
The song and the lyrics
The song Beparwah by Momina Mustehsan is written by Adnan Dhool, Momina Mustehsan, and Xulfi, was well-suited to the overall concept of the show. Momina’s monotonous singing style, on the other hand, falls flat with the audience. We thought experimenting with Mustehsan in season 14 would be novel, but it seemed like Pee Jaoon or Baari all over again. Sajan Das Na, for example. I admire Atif Aslam for stepping outside of his comfort zone and making it enjoyable. Momina, on the other hand, does not appear to be receptive to any experimentation; all she did was move wonderfully while singing in the same style as before. We can anticipate more styles from her in the future.
Listen to Beparwah Momina Mustehsan here
Despite this, the lyrics portray a lovely longing for the lover. The song video with the words “Mujh ko yaar se mila de, rabba ab tou sila dey, mein tou haarne lagi hun khud se, mere ansu wo gira dey jo tujh ko hansa dey” was truly a wonderful idea!
Final Verdict
Overall, as we’ve seen with Pasoori, Tu Jhoom, Kana Yaari, Muaziz Saarif, Peechay Hutt, and Ye Dunya this year, this is another fantastic addition to many people’s playlists. We only have one question for Xulfi: what’s next?

Malala says that women have the right to choose between burqa and bikini
Malala, the brave and bold!
Malala Yousafzai, the youngest Nobel Laureate, has made headlines for her outspokenness on important issues. She has put her ideas on paper and contributed her two cents to protecting every woman’s right to choose what she wears as Women’s Day approaches.
She said that she was determined to decide on hijab and niqaab for herself. “My face meant identity, presence, and power for me – and I refused to cover it,” she wrote.
Malala talks about hijab in different countries
She shared, “Around the world, girls are under attack for what they wear. Last month the Indian state of Karnataka banned girls wearing hijabs from classrooms and colleges, forcing them to choose between their education or suffering the humiliation of removing their head coverings at the school gates. Senators in France voted 160 to 143 to ban hijabs in sports competitions in January,” she then communicated. “Until last year, schools in Indonesia directed all girls to wear a hijab covering their head, neck, and chest. Though a recent government decree banned this practice, Christian and other non-Muslim girls report some teachers are still insisting that they wear the hijab. Meanwhile, in Afghanistan, Taliban officials advise women to wear blankets to work.”

The regression and opression
She also added, “South Africa’s High Court found that a school had violated a Hindu girl’s rights by requiring her to remove her nose ring. Schools in both the United Kingdom and the United States have punished Black girls for their hairstyles, sending them home or giving them detention for wearing their hair as they pleased. The International Handball Federation required women to wear revealing outfits in competition, while a woman in a similar outfit was told she couldn’t board a plane unless she covered up. In Japan, women are told to wear high heels and take off their eyeglasses at work.”
Malala said, “Women and girls all throughout the world know that if they are harassed or abused on the street, their clothes are more likely to be prosecuted than their attackers.”

And it continues…
“Women are constantly being told to put on or take off various items of clothing, constantly sexualized or suppressed. We are beaten at home, punished at school, and harassed in public for what we wear,” she remarked. “Years ago I spoke against the Taliban forcing women in my community to wear burqas – and last month I spoke against Indian authorities forcing girls to remove their hijabs at school. These aren’t contradictions – both cases involve objectifying women. If someone forces me to cover my head, I will protest. If someone forces me to remove my scarf, I will protest.”
She then made a point and shared, “Whether a woman chooses a burqa or a bikini, she has the right to decide for herself. Come and talk to us about individual freedom and autonomy, about preventing harm and violence, about education and emancipation. Do not come with your wardrobe notes.”

Friday Flix Series of the Week: Peaky Blinders
By the order of Peaky Blinders
If you’re searching for a true picture of 1920s England, look no farther than Peaky Blinders. It’s raw, emotional, and unexpectedly realistic. Peaky Blinders revels in its dirty, gloomy image of Birmingham, which revolves around a family aiming to rise to the top of the criminal underworld. There are lots of twists and turns along the road, keeping you guessing and culminating in a shocking final moment to bring the six episodes of magnificent drama to a close.
Peaky Blinders cast
The Peaky Blinders cast includes Cillian Murphy, Paul Anderson, Helen McCrory, Iddo Goldberg, Annabelle Wallis, Aidan Gillen, Joe Cole, Sophie Rundle in lead. The additional cast includes Sam Neill, Natasha O’Keeffe, Finn Cole, Kate Phillips, Tom Hardy, and Charlie Murphy.
What is Peaky Blinders all about?
The Peaky Blinders, a group of suit-wearing, flat-cap-wearing guys who manage a modest betting operation in the heart of one of Birmingham’s worst neighborhoods, are at the center of the plot. When a package of profitable firearms ends up in his control, ambitious Thomas Shelby (Cillian Murphy) has his limitations challenged, and he wonders what to do with this risky present. Inspector Chester Campbell (Sam Neill), a cold, calculated Irishman, is hot on the trail of the weapons, promising to return them to Winston Churchill and hold the men involved accountable.

While Thomas, Arthur (Paul Anderson), and Aunt Polly (Helen McCrory) wrestle with the moral ambiguity surrounding what to do with the guns, Tommy sets his sights on expanding the company, focusing on Billy Kimber’s (Charlie Creed-Miles) burgeoning betting empire in an attempt to dethrone him and take the lion’s share of the profits. Throughout the six episodes, both narratives converge and come to a head in an explosive finale, providing a gratifying and surprising conclusion to a strong first season.
The on-point character portrayal of Peaky Blinders
When it comes to the personalities, every one of the main characters is both captivating and memorable, thanks to some outstanding performances all around. Tommy, on the other hand, is definitely the show’s standout character; his combination of icy swagger and calculating cruelty makes him a formidable protagonist, with the unpredictable Chester Campbell becoming a great rival for him, aided by Sam Neill, who nails his role to perfection. Arthur’s hotheaded innocence contrasts wonderfully with the other members of the family as he tries to restore his place as the business’s front-runner.
Also Read: Friday Flix Series of the Week: Emily in Paris
This character-driven approach also works well throughout the series, with flashbacks to Tommy’s experience in WWI tormenting him at various points. This, combined with different establishing shots and sweeping camera motions, helps create not only the aesthetic of the era but also the mood and attitude of its various socioeconomic strata. All of this is aided by the lighting, which mostly employs a somber orange palette to cast sinister shadows across faces and bathe settings in a mysterious tint. The glaringly bright images at Kimber’s estate, as well as sequences with higher-status persons out in the open during the day, contrast nicely. It’s a minor detail, but it adds to the overall appeal of this six-part series.
Final Verdict
Peaky Blinders is a once-in-a-lifetime crime drama. It not only authentically depicts the time period with a realistic set and costume design, but it also does so with a cast of fascinating characters at its core. Thomas, on the other hand, is the star of the show, and Cillian Murphy plays him with such quiet intensity that it’s difficult not to be pulled to him whenever he appears in a scene. While the plot can feel overly convoluted at times, particularly in the penultimate episode, Peaky Blinders just about pulls it all together for a compelling ending packed with tension and drama, resulting in an amazing first season of entertainment and an exciting promise for the future.

Manifest storyline explained
We meet the Stone family in 2013, when we meet Mom and Dad, their adult children Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh) and Ben (Once Upon a Time’s Josh Dallas), his wife Grace (Athena Karkanis), and their 10-year-old twins Olive (Luna Blaise) and Cal (Jack Messina), who has terminal leukemia. Michaela, Ben, and Cal swap their tickets for a later trip while waiting to board their oversold flight from Montego Bay to New York. When that airplane encounters severe turbulence, it is redirected to a different airport to land.
When the plane lands, a group of federal agents greets the passengers and crew, informing them that they haven’t just finished a three-hour flight: Now it’s been five and a half years since Flight 828 went missing, with everyone on board thought dead. The travelers soon realize that, even though they haven’t aged a day, the time has passed them by. Michaela finds out that her fiancé is marrying her best friend. Cal’s twin sister is now a teen who has never known her father. And when Ben and Michaela realize they’re hearing the same voices, they begin to suspect that the passengers of Flight 828 didn’t simply lose five years, but acquired something they don’t know about.

Is Manifest worth the watch?
A gripping mystery is a terrific way to start a show, but it’s the series’ heart that sets it apart from its many identical predecessors. The airways have been littered with the corpses of shows that began with a fantastic supernatural mystery — The Event, Flash Forward, The Nine, Invasion, The Crossing, Surface, The Whispers, Threshold — but couldn’t keep the promise of their premise. Now we have Manifest and its mystery is a doozy: An airplane that has been missing for more than five years emerges, with no one on board having aged a day or even noticing the passage of time. Even though it incorporates some parts that people may find offensive, it’s a terrific hook.

Drama Review: Dobara
Dobara: acceptance of difference
The way a play or film tackles a subject or issue is more essential than the story’s theme. Dobara, a drama centered on Mahir and Mehru, played by Bilal Abbas Khan and Hadiqa Kiani, respectively, is HUM TV’s most recent offering, and it comes with high expectations. The first episode aired a while ago, and it’s safe to say that we’ll be watching it again.
Dobara cast
The cast includes Hadiqa Kiani, Bilal Abbas Khan, Zoya Nasir, Sabeena Syed, Usama Khan, Maheen Siddiqui. Additional cast includes Sakina Samo, Nabeel Zuberi, Naumaan Ijaz, Angeline Malik, Mojiz Hasan, and Shabbir Jan. The drama is written by Sarwat Nazir and directed by Danish Nawaz.
Dobara drama story
Dobara is a tale about tangled relationships and cultural expectations. Mehru (Hadiqa Kiani) is presented as a widow who has recently lost her husband Hidayat in the first episode (Naumaan Ejaz). Mehru’s tragic past is told in flashbacks, in which she is forced to marry a much older man against her father’s wishes. Despite what appears to be a minor role, Naumaan was always present in the scenes.
Mehru’s hair is gorgeously filmed as she lets down her bun and opens her hair in the first scene, and you can tell she’s finally letting go. In her case, the loosening of the tight bun represents liberation.
The subject of early marriages (child marriages)
While everyone around her, particularly her son Affan (Usama Khan), daughter Minal (Maheen Siddiqui), and sister-in-law Durdana (Sakina Samo), expects her to be grieving the loss of her husband, she appears to be grieving the death of her own life and the murder of her innocent adolescence.
Also Read: Drama Review: The last episode of Parizaad had us in tears!
Mehru begs a youngster to play with her at the prayer meeting. It’s painful to see since it displays the extent of her suffering. Her childhood was stolen from her, and she was forced to live a life she didn’t want.
Sakina Samo as a vicious phuppo
Sakina Samo portrays a typical desi phuppo and sister-in-law who would not miss an opportunity to make fun of Mehru or anybody else in the house. Despite the fact that it is a funeral, she is only concerned with putting on a show of rituals, tradition, riches, and power.
Bilal Abbas Khan as Mahir
The character of Bilal, on the other hand, is introduced. Mahir comes from a damaged home, as both of his parents divorced and remarried. Mahir has been unwanted and neglected his entire life as a result of their decision, and it shows in his demeanor. He is unemployed and irresponsible. But he starts his chemistry with Mehru as a surprise.
Because his internal discourse was fully hidden from the viewers, Mahir’s genuine objectives remained a mystery. He chose to propose to Mehru after a buddy persuaded him to take advantage of this chance to become wealthy, and, more crucially, after Narmeen made him feel useless once more!

Final Verdict
The story gets along pretty well as well as entertaining with Dobara. Hadiqa Kiani was not just a great singer but a great actress as well. Bilal Abbas Khan is a usual cutie-pie of the industry. Furthermore, every scene is a delight. Dobara airs every Wednesday at 8 pm.
Rating: 3.9/5
