The beautiful friendship between the former president of the United States of America Barack Obama and Bruce Springsteen was not something you could ignore throughout Obama’s eight years at the office. Springsteen has performed at Obama’s rallies in 2008 and in 2012 as well. He has received the Kennedy Center Honor from the president in 2009.

That’s not all he has also performed a beautiful 15-song set for his friend’s staffers as they left. We witnessed a friendship with two people having a completely different background. And two differently famous people having a completely different race but still are best friends with each other.

Bruce Springsteen

Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen) is an American vocalist, lyricist, and performer who is both an independent solo artist and the lead of the E Street Band. Initially from the Jersey Shore, he got critical praise for his mid-1970s collections and achieved overall acclaim upon the arrival of Born to Run in 1975. During a profession that has crossed fifty years, Springsteen has gotten known for his graceful, socially cognizant verses and lively stage exhibitions, now and again enduring as long as four hours long. He has been given the epithet “The Boss”. He has recorded both rock collections and folk-oriented works, and his verses frequently address the encounters and battles of common Americans [working-class].

Springsteen has sold more than 150 million records worldwide and more than 64 million albums in the United States, making him one of the world’s best-selling music artists. He has earned countless accolades for his work, including 20 Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes, an Academy Award, and a Tony Award (for Springsteen on Broadway). Springsteen was inducted into both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.

Renegades: Born in the USA

And now, they both have started a podcast together, Renegades: Born in the USA. Where both discuss life and different realities around it!

With the first two of eight episodes, Renegades shows a promising approach and gave out “a personal, in-depth discussion between two friends exploring their pasts, their beliefs, and the country that they love—as it was, as it is, and as it ought to be going forward.”

The exclusive clip from the podcast on Spotify reveals that beginning with Springsteen reflecting on how he found his own voice as a musician, and then the former president sharing that it was exactly that kind of ability to reflect that forged their friendship. They also included how their wives Michelle and Patti hit it off too!

As Obama says in his introduction to the first episode, “On the surface, Bruce and I don’t have a lot in common. But over the years, what we’ve found is that we’ve got a shared sensibility. About work, about family, and about America. In our own ways, Bruce and I have been on parallel journeys trying to understand this country that’s given us both so much.”
