‘A movie where men cried.’ The fast and Furious franchise has been closer to many hearts. And many people loved it and adored it through and through. Their lives have been revolved around gorgeous cars, races, and whatnot. Tragedies came along but fans’ and followers’ love grew stronger. Fast and Furious 9 is finally coming soon and every guy is excited. The first trailer was released a year ago with John Cena in it. [And yes, he is definitely not invisible in it]
Fast and Furious trailer release
The first trailer is exciting and full of thrill. John Cena can be seen in it as Diesel’s younger brother Jakob.
After the second trailer release on Tuesday, the Bloodshot star says that it is quite literally a match made in heaven.
Fast and Furious 9 press conference
Speaking to the press conference ahead of the trailer release, Diesel said, “Years before we actually started casting, Justin [Lin] and I were playing with this concept. All of us had brothers, and that interesting dynamic of what your brotherly love is. And how complex it can be at times makes for great storytelling.”
He also said, “I remember once we started getting closer to production, Justin and I were talking about how harrowing it would be to actually have to cast a new Toretto. There are so many different directions you can go.”
Vin Diesel and John Cena
Further during the press conference Diesel said, “I remember John Cena coming into this Dom shrine. Where I would kind of go and meditate and train and start getting into that Dom state of mind.”
“I remember him coming in, and… call this crazy. I remember feeling as though Pablo, Paul Walker, had sent him in.”
He added, “I remember talking to Justin that night and saying my gut and heart feels like this is meant to be.”
For his part, Cena understood the huge responsibility. He was accepting the role as a family member of Toretto. He said, “I certainly didn’t overlook the responsibility of the opportunity…
I get to reap the rewards of this family who has supported the foundation and built the structure of a global-delivering blockbuster. And I also get invited into the ninth installment to share the last name Toretto, to be Dom’s greatest adversary of all time. That is not lost.”
