Kangana Ranaut calls Gehraiyaan movie ‘trash’

Gehraiyaan movie

Gehraiyaan, a film starring Deepika Padukone and launched on Amazon Prime on February 11, has received mixed reviews since its premiere. Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Dhairya Karwa, Naseeruddin Shah, and Rajat Kapoor also star in the film.

Kangana Ranaut the critique of Bollywood!

Kangana Ranaut, a Bollywood actress, has now revealed her severe critique of the film, with little remorse for her co-stars. She also dubbed the Shakun Batra-directed film “crap” in a mysterious Instagram story post. In her most recent diatribe, the actress claims that the picture uses skin show, pornography’ to hide its flaws.

Kangana Ranaut takes a dig at Gehraiyaan movie

“I am also a millennial but I identify with and understand this kind of romance. In the name of millennial, new age, urban films, don’t sell trash please.” “Bad movies are bad movies no amount of skin show or pornography can save it. It’s a basic fact, koi gehraiyaan wali baat nahi hai.” says the narrator.

Kangana tweeted a short clip of a song from Himalay Ki God Mein alongside the unfair verdict against a grey film designed to express some hard issues (1965). Manoj Kumar, Mala Sinha, and Shashikala starred in the film, which featured a love triangle similar to Gehraiyaan.

In response, Kangana declared she would not promote Padukone’s film, according to The Indian Express. “Look, I’m here to defend people who can’t defend themselves,” she had added curtly. Alright? She has the privilege and the forum to defend herself, and I am unable to promote her film here. Please have a seat!”

Friday Flix Series of the Week: Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein

Friday Flix Series of the Week: Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein

What is the last time you watched a good drama with a good love triangle narrative? We’re not talking about a situation where someone has to select between two persons who are both excellent. We’re talking about someone who is trying to escape a powerful person who is obsessed with him while maintaining a loving relationship. This is the struggle at the heart of a new Indian Netflix drama Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein.

Cast Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein

The cast includes Mirzapur famed Shweta Tripathi along with Anchal Singh and Arunodhay Singh in lead roles. Furthermore, the cast includes Surya Sharma, Saurabh Shukla, Bijendra Kala, Kalp Shah, and Tahir Raj Bhasin.

Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein story

The story starts with Vikrant (Tahir Raj Bhasin) who, from his childhood has been tormented by a woman named Pruva (Tahir Raj Bhasin). She is the daughter of Akhiraj Aswathi (Saurabh Shukla), a powerful local politician; Vikrant’s father works for him and worships the ground on which he walks. Vikrant suffered from bodily discomfort every time she went to the same school as her as a child. He declined her request to be her friend. She eventually moves away.

The moving on

Vikrant went on with his life, enrolling in engineering school and meeting Shikha (Saurabh Shukla). He’s been sitting around his family’s house since graduation, and his father is getting bored of it. He says he’s waiting for a job offer letter from a plant outside of town; he knows it’s a good one, and he’s looking forward to starting a new life with Shikha there.

The haunted dream returns

Vikrant’s father, on the other hand, insists on an interview with Akhiraj. He notices a lovely woman coming out of an indoor pool on his approach to the politician’s office. Pruva is back, he realizes right away. She hasn’t forgotten about Vikrant; in fact, she keeps track of how long they’ve been separated down to the day. Vikrant, who wants to relocate and start over, bombs the interview until Akhiraj receives a call from his daughter, who offers him a job at her Zumba studio. His father insists that he take the job because the pay is significantly higher than what he would make at the factory.

Some, or more thriller

His first mission is to take Purva to a pier where the entire class used to go while they were in school. There’s no reason he’s out there – she has a driver who knows the region — but he can see Purva is just as enamored with him as she was in elementary school when she turns to face him. Shikha is understandably enraged when she learns of what happened, and Vikrant’s pal Golden (Avant V. Joshi) does nothing to assuage her fears.

SPOILERS AHEAD

To safeguard his relationship above all things, Vikrant decides to risk Akhiraj’s — and his father’s — wrath by telling the politician he doesn’t want the position. When he gets to the office, though, he discovers something he shouldn’t have seen: Akhiraj inadvertently killing a man by hitting him. Vikrant is recruited by Akhiraj’s henchmen to assist them in dismantling and disposing of the body.

Final verdict

It takes too long to get to Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein, and the route isn’t even remotely engaging or intriguing. Sengupta appears to have taken a feature-length story and stretched it to fit an eight-part first season (that ends on a cliffhanger). It’s also overly plot-driven, which gets old after a while. If a direct route from point A to point B is possible, Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein will take three detours along the way. Everything is overcomplicated unnecessarily. It wants to put its characters in awkward circumstances, but it uses inelegant methods to do so. It’s as if Sengupta writes himself into a position and then decides to give up rather than discover a better way out.

Tech Tuesday Start Up of the Week: InventHub

Tech Tuesday Start Up of the Week: InventHub

What is cloud collaboration?

Cloud collaboration is for employees to collaborate on documents and other data types that are stored off-premises and outside the company firewall. Employees share, edit, and collaborate on projects using a cloud-based collaboration tool. Collaboration in the cloud allows two or more people to work on a project at the same time.

A cloud collaboration project starts when one person generates a file or document and then grants access to specific people; for example, the project creator may post a link to the project so that others can read and modify it. Users can make changes to the document at any moment. Even if they are reading and working on it at the same time. Every user sees the same version of the project because all modifications are stored and synced. InventHub, a Pakistani firm, is also working on a similar cloud collaboration principle. Let’s learn more about it.

What is InventHub?

The electronics manufacturing business is being disrupted by InventHub, an American SaaS (software as a service) startup. It offers a cloud-based collaboration platform. Users can utilize this platform to increase productivity, maintain quality, and commercialize goods more quickly.

Inventhub, led by Pakistani visionaries Usama Abid and Usman Maqsood, is up against industry behemoths worth billions of dollars, yet it aims to fundamentally change how electrical technology is designed.

What sets InventHub apart?

Inventhub sets itself apart from the competition with its unique developer utilities and integrated multi-stakeholder collaboration platform, which allows product teams to collaborate in real-time and commercialize their innovations more quickly.

Fits into your workflow

You may use Inventhub to collaborate on your PCB design projects in the cloud by connecting your ECAD design tools. In addition, git version control is used. Use our dedicated toolkit to create a Bill of Materials and gain supply-chain insights. You can also construct your own design projects and a database of electronic components.

Before starting Inventhub, Usama founded DIY Geeks, a robotics education firm in Pakistan that was a pioneer in a country where robotics is still in its infancy compared to other regional countries. Usama now oversees a team of more than ten employees tasked with reshaping the electronics manufacturing industry.

Inventhub has already made waves, with over 6000 active users and several companies purchasing their product, demonstrating its potential as a significant disruptor.

A new change!

As a result of these purchases, the electronics business is quickly expanding, and Inventhub is well-positioned to fundamentally disrupt how electronics are developed.

The exponential rise of digital products built for markets like consumer products, robots, IoT, medical devices, and energy has necessitated the use of remote-based electronics design resources.

Ali Sethi and Shae Gill channels a bohemian vibe in Coke Studio’s new song ‘Pasoori’

Ali Sethi and Shae Gill channels a bohemian vibe in Coke Studio’s new song ‘Pasoori’

Ali Sethi and Shae Gill perform Pasoori on Coke Studio

Pasoori, the latest offering from Coke Studio 14, which features Ali Sethi and Shae Gill, has won a lot of hearts since its debut, thanks to its upbeat sound and colorful music video.

Pasoori is fusion at its finest, with musical influences ranging from reggaeton to the heartfelt sounds of the rubab. Since the premiere of the music video on Monday evening, the song has received largely positive reviews. With lyrics about letting go of worries and loving yourself for who you are.

The idea behind Pasoori

Sethi wrote ‘Pasoori’ at a time when local performers were prohibited from working beyond the border, according to Coke Studio. On top of that, the song’s lyrics were “motivated by the impulse to celebrate artistic self-expression” and turn angst into creativity. One of the lines was inspired by a remark Sethi observed on the back of a truck.

Ali Sethi and Shae Gill’s Pasoori

A classical dance performance by the beautiful Sheema Kirmani in the video elevates the groovy track’s introduction, with Hashim Ali’s bohemian set combining nicely with the song’s atmosphere. Furthermore, Hashim Ali constructed the set for the music video with the goal of creating a social space where artists may celebrate humanity “not just via race, but also through difference in emotion, style, and spirituality.”

The perfect blend of voices

Ali and Shae’s voices harmonize well, and the parts of the song where the two harmonize are a fantastic example of their vocal compatibility. According to the official press release, Ali wrote the song out of irritation when Pakistani singers were denied permission to perform in India.

Twitter goes frenzy

Not just that, Twitter goes crazy over how beautifully this song transcends. The hashtag of Ali Sethi is on Twitter trends along with Coke Studio season 14. People are loving the vibe.

A tribute to Lata Mangeshkar, the nightingale of India!

A tribute to Lata Mangeshkar, the nightingale of India!

The Nightingale of India has fallen silent!

Lata Mangeshkar, a cultural icon in India. A vocalist who defined music and melody for generations across South Asia, has died at the age of 92. Mangeshkar was admitted to the hospital on January 11 after contracting COVID-19. She died of “multi-organ failure” on Sunday at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, according to Dr. Pratit Samdani.

Lata Mangeshkar a ruler of Bollywood music

The “Nightingale” Mangeshkar dominated Bollywood music for more than half a century with her younger sister Asha Bhonsle, a celebrity in her own right, and is widely regarded as the Indian film industry’s greatest-ever playback vocalist.

Mangeshkar was born on September 28, 1929, in Maharashtra, and began singing with her father, Deenanath, who was also a professional singer, at religious events. She recorded her first song for a Bollywood film when she was 13 years old, in 1942.

She became a star with enormous popular appeal after moving to Mumbai, India’s film capital, dazzling audiences with her smooth, crisp voice and immortalizing Hindi music for decades to come.

A blessed voice from God!

In addition to releasing devotional and classical CDs, Mangeshkar sang over 5,000 songs in over 1,000 Bollywood and regional language films. Her discography included about 27,000 songs in a variety of languages, including English, Russian, Dutch, and Swahili.

She previously told an interviewer, “My voice is a gift from God.”

“I became a mother when I sang a lullaby, and a lover when I sang a romantic song.”

In addition to that her songs, which were usually full of emotion, were mostly melancholy and dealt with unrequited love, but some also sung of national pride.

She also sang for Madhubala and Meena Kumari, two of Bollywood’s first superstars, and later went on to give voice to new divas like Priyanka Chopra.

Working with crème de-la-crème of Bollywood

Mangeshkar collaborated with practically all of India’s great music directors during the course of her career, including Madan Mohan, Naushad, SD Burman, RD Burman, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, and AR Rahman, selling tens of millions of recordings.

Book Review: Kafka On The Shore by Haruki Murakami

Book Review: Kafka On The Shore by Haruki Murakami

Perplexed realities of books

I use strange criteria to evaluate books. My favorite reading experiences have been when I’ve taken the longest to finish a book. These aren’t always page-heavy books or even rich syntactic prose. These are books I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. I read a chapter or ten pages and then feel compelled to put the book down and reflect.

One of Murakami’s most perplexing works is Kafka On The Shore. This is not the book to start reading if you want to learn more about the author’s work. Start with something simple, like Men Without Women or Norwegian Wood, according to his followers.

Haruki Murakami

Haruki Murakami is a novelist from Japan. His books, essays, and short stories have all been bestsellers in Japan and around the world, and his work has been translated into more than 50 languages. For his writing, he has won the Gunzou Prize for New Writers, the World Fantasy Award, the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award, the Franz Kafka Prize, and the Jerusalem Prize, among others. His famous works include the novels Norwegian Wood, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, Kafka on the Shore, and 1Q84. According to a survey of literary experts conducted by the national newspaper Asahi Shimbun, 1Q84 is the best work of Japan’s Heisei era (1989-2019). His work has been praised for its use of magical realism in genres such as science fiction, fantasy, and crime fiction.

Kafka On The Shore by Haruki Murakami

The novel is driven by two remarkable characters: Kafka Tamura, a teen who runs away from home either to avoid a gruesome oedipal prophecy or to look for his long-missing mother and sister; and Nakata, an ageing simpleton who never recovered from a wartime affliction and is now drawn to Kafka for reasons that, like the most basic activities of daily life, he cannot fathom.

Haruki Murakami immerses readers in a universe where cats communicate, fish fall from the sky, and souls slip out of their bodies to make love or commit murder as their paths converge and the reasons for that convergence become obvious. In Kafka on the Shore, one of the world’s greatest storytellers is at his most powerful.

The author beautifully explains in the book that sometimes things happen that we don’t understand, and we stop liking ourselves as a result. We must, however, maintain our faith and continue to hold our own hands.

“And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive.”

Final Verdict

Kafka On The Shore is a great book for examining your own soul. What it means to be human, and how to deal with life when it’s nearly difficult to do so.

Rating 4.5/5

Women Empower Wednesday: Pakistan’s first transgender doctor Sarah Gill

Women Empower Wednesday: Pakistan’s first transgender doctor Sarah Gill

Transgenders in Pakistan

Pakistan has progressive legislation that safeguards trans rights in theory. In South Asia, there have been thousands of years of references to the gender-diverse population, and Pakistan is one of just 12 countries in the world that recognizes transgender status on national ID cards.

However, the Khawaja Sira community was criminalized by the British Raj by the Criminal Tribes Act of 1871, and trans people in Pakistan continue to suffer as a result of the attitudes it engendered.

Violence against transgenders

Violence against trans individuals has increased in recent years. Nayyab Ali, a prominent trans activist, was attacked at her Islamabad home in November by two men brandishing knives. She was held captive for three hours and tortured and robbed during that time. And this is just one example; transgender people’s rights are being intentionally infringed on a regular basis. Resistance, on the other hand, breeds persistence. Sarah Gill overcomes all odds to become Karachi’s first transgender doctor.

Sarah Gill Pakistan's first transgender doctor

Sarah Gill

A transgender individual 23 years old Sarah Gill has created history by becoming the first Pakistani woman to pass the professional MBBS test. Sarah Gill Khan, Pakistan’s first transgender person to get this honor, just completed her MBBS final exam at the Jinnah Medical and Dental College in Karachi.

Sarah, who had to enroll in medical school as a male student, told an interviewer that her classmates were aware of her true identity, despite it never being legally revealed. Her parents insisted that she dress up as a man, she said.

Sarah Gill shares her struggles

Sarah remarked about her struggles. She said “Despite the fact that I am not a guy, they insisted on me dressing up as one for the rest of my life. They claimed that I am self-centered. Moreover, I do not consider the loss of respect that my family will suffer if I come out as transgender. She also believes that every transgender person has to deal with the same issues.”

Before completing her MBBS degree, she remarked in an interview, “My family warned me that if I came out as transsexual, they would stop funding my education. I’ll have to pay for my next year’s tuition on my own now.”

Furthermore, Sarah is said to have tried suicide a few times, according to some stories. “A regular individual will never comprehend our mental state. It’s as though a soul has been trapped in the wrong body “she stated

Moreover, Sara is also the founder of the non-profit Gender Interactive Alliance. In addition to that, she said, “I am not ashamed of my sexuality. And the finest source of encouragement is the fact that my community requires my services,” she believed.

Feroze Khan glorifies violence in the name of love in Aye Musht-e-Khaak

Feroze Khan glorifies violence in the name of love in Aye Musht-e-Khaak

Everything that went wrong in Aye Musht-e-Khaak

The drama industry has been chastised before for pushing risky stories. And you’d think that by now, writers, producers, and actors would have gotten the message. Shockingly (but not so surprisingly), many people are still keen on making content that shows violence and normalizes it. Aye Musht-e-Khaak, a current drama starring Feroze Khan and Sana Khan. This drama is the latest example of how some stories still stick to glorify such heinous behavior in the name of love.

Musht-e-Khaak

Aye Musht-e-Khaak is a GEO TV drama directed by Aehsun Talish and written by Maha Malik. It is produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi. The drama is touted as “a compelling tale of the longstanding conflict between good and evil. As two very different persons with opposing perspectives to life come together and the way the path of justice overpowers the wrongdoings,” and it stars Feroze and Sana as the lead characters.

Also Read: Drama Review: The last episode of Parizaad had us in tears!

The good-evil couples of every Pakistani drama

Aye Musht-e-Khaak isn’t the first or last drama to pit good against evil in a married connection in the globe (or Pakistan), and it’s unlikely to be the last. Its issue isn’t with the formulaic premise; rather, it’s with the violence that has been masterfully woven into the story by the main character Mustajab (Feroze Khan).

In the words of Aye Musht-e-Khaak, Mustajab and Dua’s lives take an unexpected turn when Mustajab falls in love with Dua. Dua, on the other hand, refuses to feel the same way. Furthermore, Mustajab, who isn’t used to being refused, becomes agitated, and his fondness for Dua quickly becomes an obsession. While a sequence of falsehoods and deception continue, Mustajab forgets to discern between love and stubbornness.

The unnecessary portrayal of violence

Moreover, Mustajab has shown troubling levels of violence towards others in the 15 episodes that have aired thus far. Mustajab’s violent streak, according to the creators of Aye Musht-e-Khaak, is a manifestation of the precise moral defect. This depicts that Dua’s goodness will conquer over time. Thereby providing a lesson in what kind of person one should not be. The intention is to portray and correct a morally flawed character. On the other hand, is no excuse for depicting the extreme and disturbing forms of violence we’ve seen in several episodes thus far.
